Summer is kicking in, classes are out, you can’t get out much because of A(H1N1). So what does that spell out? A bummer summer, lucky for you, this blog is here to help you out.
Theme parks, malls and concerts may not be the places your folks would want you to frequent, and let’s face it, who would want their child to be infected by the A(H1N1) pandemic? So now your stuck at the streets of your neighborhood, and you’re still lucky cause you can go out in the streets. So here’s 4 things for you and your friends to do this summer:
- Play war games – Try out water gun fights and the likes. It’s a great way to cool down on a hot summer afternoon. You can play with as many friends as you want. You could go by teams or individually. You can try to recreate historic battles. Be creative. Make WAR not BUM
- Play role playing games – This is a little similar to war games because you can recreat historic events. You can be a super hero, the damsel in distress. Anything you want to be. although, this’ll be much better if kids play this
- Be kids again – Try playing kid’s games like cops and robbers, hide and seek, and tag. Most times, it’s fun to do kid’s stuff. It helps you forget your worries and have plain old FUN
- Do drinking games – Instead of drinking alcohol, try real, ice-cold fruit juices. Try pineapple or orange, or both, which are quick to cool down body temperatures. Try to see who can drink the most juice. You can add a twist to the game by not sweetening the juice.
Now, these ideas are great if you can go out on the streets or be with your friends. But if you’re really stuck at home, here are 4 ways to spend the summer
- Get a hobby – hobbies are great ways to pass time. You can try crafting like cross stitching, sewing, scrapbooking and martha stewart things (lol). You can also try baking, which is my hobby. (Watch out for my next posts about baking)
- Play board games – board games are classic ways to spend time with your family (and earn bragging rights). Though, it’s not limited to family members, you can invite your best buds to join in on the fun
- Rent DVDs - Rent DVDs and watch movies you missed on the big screen. Buy some microwave popcorn and you’re good to go
- Read – You now have time to finish that book you started reading last term as an excuse for not doing any chores (;p). Or if you’re not into reading, this is a good time to start. For a suggestion of authors or books, watch our for my next posts).
